Silversea have introduced a new fare structure with three fare types based on guests’ feedback about what’s more important to them: flexibility and more control over their bookings.
The luxury cruise line has also created a variety of new shore excursion categories, designed to help guests tailor their destination experiences to their needs.
So, what’s new, what does this mean for you and how will this impact booking with Silversea in the future?
Silversea’s signature all-inclusive onboard experiences remain unchanged; all new fare types still include gratuities, butler service, complimentary beverages and fine dining. The difference is the focus on flexibility and the ability for guests to tailor the rest of their journey through purchasing add-ons.
The luxury cruise line has broken their fares down from one all-inclusive option to three separate options for guests to choose from: All-Inclusive Plus, All-Inclusive and the Last-Minute Fare.
Silversea’s All-Inclusive Plus Fare is the most inclusive option of all the new fare types. Guests can enjoy complimentary shore excursion credit, a refundable deposit and flexible cancellation schedule should your plans change, and the Silversea fare guarantee program.
Like the All-Inclusive Plus, this fare still offers a flexible cancellation schedule, except the deposit is non-refundable and you do not receive any shore excursion credit.
The Last-Minute Fare if perfect for those who like to book holidays with less notice. Guests are required to pay in full at the time of booking and the fare is only available within five months of departure.
Yes, expedition cruises are completely all-inclusive and offer everything as they did before, including travel and transfers, so the fare structures are not applicable to these voyages.
For world cruises and grand voyages, bookings can only be made through an All-Inclusive Plus Fare.
Shore excursion credit is included when you book an ocean voyage on the all-inclusive plus fare. You can use this towards any of the shore excursions offered (apart from custom experiences or overland experiences) and you can select them with ease after making your booking. You can use the credit on a number different excursions or use all the credit towards one amazing excursion - how to spend the credit is up to you.
Anything with a value of over the credit you have included - you simply top up the difference. Just note, all credit must used be the end of your cruise and cannot be transferred or carried forward to another voyage.
Credit is still available to be purchased through the app for your voyage on the all-inclusive and last-minute fare types.
Silversea’s four new excursion categories offer guests a way to experience each destination according to their preferences and budget, so your holiday is more catered to your individual needs throughout.
Highlight Experiences provide seamless tours of iconic sites, perfect if you’re looking for a classic experience to see the renowned areas of the destination in a short space of time.
Signature Experiences are smaller tours which are crafted exclusively by Silversea, allowing guests to explore locations more in depth.
Private Experiences are truly special, exclusive tours that are unique and created for adventure to explore locations on a deeper, more intimate level. These are tailored for a group travelling together, specifically for the individual guests in mind, and offer the flexibility and privacy they desire.
For select voyages, guests can immerse themselves in an Overland Experience, a multi-day land excursion that offers a deeper dive into the heart of the destination beyond the coast.
