Find Out More About Explora Journeys
Explora VI is the sixth ultra-luxury ship to join the Explora Journeys fleet and is scheduled to enter service in 2028, joining sister ships Explora I, Explora II, Explora III, Explora IV and Explora V. Built by Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri, the vessel marks an important milestone in the company's commitment to more sustainable ocean travel. Unlike the first four ships in the fleet, Explora VI will be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), significantly reducing emissions while supporting a cleaner future for cruising. The ship will also feature shore power connectivity, advanced energy management systems and the latest environmental technologies designed to improve efficiency without compromising the guest experience.
Designed to combine cutting-edge innovation with refined European luxury, the Explora 6 cruise ship will feature all-suite accommodation with private terraces, expansive outdoor spaces and thoughtfully curated experiences that encourage a slower, more immersive style of travel. Every detail has been carefully considered to create a modern luxury cruise experience that balances comfort, wellbeing and exploration.
As the newest generation of Explora Journeys vessels, Explora VI has been designed with sustainability at its core. Its LNG-powered engines represent a significant advancement in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, while onboard systems have been developed to improve energy efficiency and minimise the ship's environmental impact throughout every voyage.
The Explora 6 cruise ship will also incorporate shore-side electrical connectivity, allowing the vessel to switch off its engines when docked at compatible ports. Advanced waste management technologies, water conservation systems and environmentally responsible operational practices demonstrate Explora Journeys' long-term vision for more responsible luxury travel.
For guests, these innovations provide reassurance that their holiday supports a cruise line investing in cleaner technologies while maintaining the exceptional standards of comfort and service expected from a luxury brand.
Rather than focusing solely on traditional onboard attractions, Explora VI has been designed to strengthen guests' connection with the sea. Large outdoor terraces, spacious open-air lounges and panoramic public areas create an environment where ocean views become part of the experience from sunrise to sunset.
Accommodation aboard Explora VI continues the brand's all-suite concept, with every suite featuring a private terrace, generous living space and elegant contemporary interiors inspired by European luxury residences. Across the ship, carefully selected materials, calming colour palettes and abundant natural light create an atmosphere of understated sophistication.
The Explora 6 cruise ship also includes multiple swimming pools, wellness spaces and quiet retreats, giving guests plenty of opportunities to relax away from busy public areas. The emphasis is on space, privacy and tranquillity, creating a boutique hotel feel while sailing across the world's oceans.
Every itinerary aboard Explora VI has been designed to encourage meaningful exploration rather than rushed sightseeing. The ship is expected to visit both world-famous ports and lesser-known coastal destinations, allowing guests to experience local cultures, regional cuisine and authentic traditions at a more leisurely pace.
The Explora 6 cruise ship is expected to operate a variety of seasonal itineraries across destinations including the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, the Caribbean and beyond. Longer port stays and overnight visits provide greater flexibility, giving travellers more time to explore independently or join expertly organised shore experiences.
Life on board is equally rewarding. Guests can enjoy globally inspired dining concepts, stylish cocktail lounges, enriching cultural events, live entertainment and a comprehensive wellness programme that includes a luxury spa, fitness facilities and relaxation areas. Every aspect of Explora VI has been created to deliver a personalised journey where discovery extends beyond the destinations themselves.
Blending innovative technology, responsible cruising practices and sophisticated design, Explora VI represents the future direction of luxury ocean travel. For travellers seeking spacious accommodation, immersive itineraries and environmentally conscious innovation, the Explora 6 cruise ship offers a distinctive way to experience the world's most remarkable destinations in comfort and style.
