Travelling to the Galapagos Islands is no easy feat, but the experience when you arrive is worth every moment you spent getting there. Situated just off the coast of Ecuador, the only way to visit the Galapagos Islands for your expedition cruise is by flying through the mainland country itself. Due to there being no direct flights from the UK, the easiest way to get there is flying into an American or European city, where you can board a connecting flight that takes you to Ecuador, before taking a domestic flight directly to the Islands.
It takes approximately 24 hours to reach the Galápagos Islands from the UK, due to connecting flights and transfers in different airports. For those embarking on a cruise in the Galápagos, it’s recommended you fly out at least two days prior to your embarkation to allow enough time for arrival and account for potential delays.
